Today I was resting my knee as ordered by my surgeon and playing with yarn and knitting needles, seeing what I could invent. I had a small amount of Kroy Sock Yarn leftover from other projects. I thought it a shame just to toss it.
I set up six stitches across two 2.5 mm double pointed needles and began knitting I-cord. (Most instructions on the internet don't use three needles, but I prefer this method. For instructions on making I-cord, check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJ0s_2TBwCQ
I actually kept knitting until the small ball was used up. The resulting cord was long enough to tie a Double Chinese Coin knot in the center. I attached a simple hook and eye clasp on each end and voila! A very pretty necklace and homage to one of my favorite knots. A lovely gift for any woman on your Christmas gift list.
Beautiful! just wish I had more time to devote to crafts. Next year...

Thanks Kaz. I'm always on the look out for craft projects that can be completed in a short time. Sometimes, I invent my own patterns (like above). I love making things!
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous necklace Rosa. I am not fond of neckware, but I like that. In reading your posts, I think that you and I have quite similar favorites when it comes to color use.
