Making a Josephine: Round Two

Some of you will recall the lovely Josephine I made for my Pet's birthday.  The way I wrapped the handle didn't hold up so well to use, so I tried a different approach.

I stripped off the orange mason's twine and wrapped the base with hockey grip tape to provide a more uniform surface for wrapping.  I also wrapped the bottom of the handle with a little leather and glued it in place.  I then took some 1/4" nylon rope and began a spiral half hitch wrap.  I finished off the end by creating a loop at the base of the handle.  I love the way it turned out, don't you? 


I've told Pet to put it to good use and to get back to me.  Hopefully this handle wrap will do the trick.
